Asahiyama Zoo
The ability to walk with penguins, see polar bears close up from a protective capsule, and watch seals swim through tubes sets the Asahiyama Zoo apart from its competitors and is the reason it is the most visited zoo in Japan.
Admission is a bargain at 580Yen for adults and free for children under 15. Daily bus tours are available from Furano.
